WHO I AM
Alnita Jackson has been a Registered Nurse for 27 years. She has extensive experience in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Nephrology, Public Health, and Geriatric Nursing. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate Degree in Nursing Practice. She is also a Certified Medical Examiner for the Department of Transportation.
Dr. Jackson has worked in primary care and internal medicine in rural areas in North Carolina treating patients across the lifespan. She is a Certified Nurse Educator and has taught at the Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctoral levels at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina and Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky, respectively.
Some of Dr. Jackson’s scholarly pursuits include grant writing, presenting at state and international conferences, serving as a reviewer for peer-reviewed nursing journals, and writing for publication. Dr. Jackson is a published author, and some of her most recent works include the following: “Metformin-associated lactic acidosis,” “Pyelonephritis: Early identification results in a positive outcome; ”Biosimilars: An alternative to biologics,” and “A difficult conversation: Telling family and friends when you expose them to COVID-19.”
